About Us

Cathy Warschaw, the Director of the Warschaw Learning Institute, has both national and international credentials. Having traveled throughout the world, she has participated in hotel management overseas, owned an international restaurant, supported and worked on the boards of a number of multi-cultural organizations. The Warschaw Learning Institute's original curriculum is based on her knowledge and experience in front office business management. The Internet based courses were developed after numerous requests.

Cathy has established her expertise through the course of 30 years experience in customer relations, training and cross-cultural education. She has dedicated herself to helping others become more financially independent by assisting them in the process of developing new work skills.

The aim of our teaching staff is to focus on your individual needs and to help you achieve your goals. All our instructors are qualified professionals in the field of Dentistry. They offer a collective wealth of experience that enriches student's learning by embracing an open, friendly and supportive method of teaching.

Elaine Dickson, lives in Orlando, Florida. She began her career in dentistry as a chairside assistant. Since this was a one girl office, Elaine also handled all administrative functions, including filing claims for third party reimbursement. Since 1985 Elaine's passion has been learning to master the complex, often exasperating dental insurance process, and thereby overcome the challenges it offers. She continues to stay abreast of the continual changes in the industry. Elaine's actual hands on experience over the past 30 years affords her the unique ability to speak in a language understood and appreciated by others in the field who face the same challenges every day.

Elaine has lectured on the subject of dental insurance in South Carolina, Alabama, and at the Florida National Dental Congress. She is also the author and instructor of our dental insurance course. Elaine's vision is to help others in the profession turn their dental insurance nightmares into sweet dreams. She is delighted to be affiliated with Warschaw Learning Institute, and in so doing is fulfilling her life long desire to teach.

Mary Lambourne, lives in Scottsdale, Arizona and is an ideal teacher for the Warschaw Learning Institute. Her initial training began as an orthodontic assistant. Since that was a "one girl office" she provided chairside assisting as well as staffing the front desk. Her career continued as an office manager for a pedodontist and later for an orthodontist. Up until 2003 Mary was the office manager for her husband's dental office. It was at that time that she joined the Warschaw Learning Institute.

She believes in order to have a productive dental practice it is essential that the front office staff be trained properly. Mary feels privileged to be involved in training new employees and employees who need fresh ideas.

Debra Hewitt has lived in Arizona since 1985. She has worked in the dental profession since 1982. Debra has coached more than 250 dentists and their teams through out the United States. She is a faculty member of a private college and was a faculty member at a prestigious business school for dentists. She is a certified structural consultant, certified Kolbe consultant, and has been a guest lectured at A.T. Still Dental University in Mesa, Arizona. Debra is the author and instructor of our seminar "Recession Proofing Your Practice".

ADVISORY COMMITTEE

Comprised of dentists with various specialties and backgrounds. All are highly skilled and education driven professionals. The purpose of the Advisory Committee is to provide support for the Warschaw Learning Institute in fulfilling its mission of creating a comprehensive e-learning set of courses for our students.

Dr. Jim Grisdale is a Board Certified Specialist in Periodontics and Prosthodontics with a private practice in Vancouver, British Columbia. Dr. Grisdale received an Award of Merit for Restorative Dentistry. He lectures extensively in the United States, Canada, Southeast Asia and Europe. He is a mentor for Periodontic and Prosthodontic Study Clubs. He is also a lecturer for Continuing Dental Education at U.B.C. Dr. Grisdale has published in the area of treatment for dentin sensitivity, implants, bone regeneration and soft tissue periodontal adhesives. He is an active participant in clinical research and the study of contemporary periodontal products. He is a member of several professional societies.

Dr. Daniel Weaver practices General Dentistry with a strong focus on Full Mouth Restorative and Implant Dentistry. He maintains two practices with his wife, Dr. Stephanie Weaver in Lake Charles and Sulphur. Louisiana. The Louisiana Dental Association presented its 2009 New Dentist Award to Dr. Weaver for his distinguished service over the last 9 years including civic involvement, public service and unselfish devotion to the dental profession. He is a member of the ADA, AACD, the American College of Oral Implantologist and is currently serving as vice-president and sustaining advisor for the Southwest component, and as a member of the LDA Council on Government Affairs.

	Dr. Rich Hirschinger graduated from the USC School of Dentistry and USC Marshall School of Business. Creator and CEO of Digital Dental Strategies, Inc., the parent company of DDS.com and DMD.com . Part-time Clinical Faculty in the Restorative Department at the USC School of Dentistry. Dr. Hirschinger belongs to the American Dental Association, California Dental Association and the Los Angeles Dental Society.
	Dr. Lilia Larin has been practicing dentistry in San Diego, California. She is a respected national voice representing the concerns of Hispanic and female dentists. Her commitment to oral health is shown by the depth of her professional and community involvement. Her professional affiliations include the American Dental Association, California Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry, American Association of Women Dentists, Hispanic Dental Association as well as local associations. Dr. Larin leadership roles include President and Founder of the Hispanic Dental Association (San Diego Chapter, 2002), President of the San Diego Association of Women Dentists (2003), President of the San Diego Academy of General Dentistry (2007), and the President of the American Association of Women Dentists (2008).
	Elizabeth Wimberly R.D.H.,M.S. graduated in 1985 from the Texas Woman's University Dental Hygiene Program. Elizabeth received her Master Degree in 1993 in Public Administration and Allied Health from the University of Texas. Her extensive background has enabled her to work in all the dental specialties including being the Director of the Tyler Junior College Dental Hygiene program for 5 years. Elizabeth is currently employed as Office Manager in a twenty-two operatory multi practice facility.
	Dr. Sam Markzar practices in Beverly Hills, California. Dr. Markzar is an active educator, and currently holds a teaching position as Clinical Assistant Professor of Periodontology and Implantology at USC, Department of Advanced Periodontics, Division of Surgery. He is also a specialty board member at Delta Dental Care of California, Peer Review Committee, and chief member at credentialing review board. Dr. Markzar has written many articles and is an active member of the American Academy of Periodontology, Academy of Osseointegration, and the American Dental Association.
